Can I tell you something?
I love to cook. It may have something to do with the fact that I love to eat, but the truth is I enjoy the act of cooking. I have enough acquired skill that I don’t have to follow a recipe, so it’s a joy to handle quality ingredients and create flavorful food that make me and others happy. But it’s also a form of therapy and how I make a smooth segue from the trials and tribulations of the day – there are fewer of those now that I’m retired, but still – to the calm and quiet of the evening. Wine also plays an important role in the transition, but this essay is about food and cooking so let’s move on.
