Can I tell you something?

Regular Up with a Twist readers might suspect I’m asleep when I write these essays, but I assure you I am awake. I’m just not ‘woke’. At least not as woke as many on the left wing of the Democratic Party would have me be. I’ve been a registered Democrat my entire adult life – that now adds up to 50 years if you care to do the math – and I imagine I’ll remain as such until I die, or until Donald Trump becomes king and we won’t need to bother voting anymore. That said, today’s liberal politics make me feel like a grumpy uncle at Thanksgiving who’s had a few bourbons and rolls his eyes listening to the kids talk. Not that I’ve ever done that.
