A careful reader of The Way Back will have surmised from my last two installments that I got stoned on occasion during my salad days. I was a big fan of getting high back then, and the fact it wasn’t a daily ritual during my freshman year was only because of the immutable law of supply and demand. In a dormitory full of freshman college rubes, none of whom had any connections in Eugene to speak of, the demand for marijuana far outstripped the supply. Since I wasn’t stoned that often, I attended and passed Economics 101 as you can tell.
