Can I tell you something?
I just qualified for Medicare a while back. You don’t need to know how far back, but that’s good, right? Sure I have supplemental insurance to cover most everything that actually goes wrong, and there are a few co-pays to cough up, and even within the byzantine Plan D there’s still this donut hole I could fall through, but other than that, I sleep soundly at night – except for the times I get up because my prostate heard something downstairs – knowing that my medical needs are covered and my well-being is insured and backed by the full force of the United States government. It’s of great comfort to know that healthcare is a basic right in America, and everyone is entitled to it as long as they’re nearly dead.
