Nearly three decades ago in a galaxy far, far away, my wife Lori and I attended an ‘informational meeting’ to learn about a new timeshare opportunity. Having been promised there was no obligation to buy, we listened to a slick sales pitch for over an hour and received a voucher for two round-trip tickets to Reno. Ignoring the obvious question why we would want to go to Reno, it seemed like a good deal in exchange for ruining one evening of our lives.
