Can I tell you something?

I was not a fan of the television show Lost in Space when I was a kid. Since that’s where I would’ve preferred to be instead of my father’s house, you’d think it would appeal to me, but it didn’t. The show’s premise was ludicrous, and it was poorly written and acted, but to be fair that didn’t make it different from 99% of TV programming at the time so perhaps I should’ve been more open-minded. For whatever reason, it never captured my imagination or attention and after a handful of episodes I quit watching so I could focus on more high-brow entertainment such as Hogan’s Heroes and McHales Navy.

But this essay is not about PT-Boats or German Stalags so let’s get lost in space.
