Can I tell you something?
The American experience is supposed to include all of us – not just you, not just me, everybody. I’m sure the concept of individual liberty and self-determination unfettered by government red tape seemed like a good idea to the dudes who framed the Constitution – why doesn’t anyone give credit to the people who sheet-rocked and painted it? – but they quite intentionally left out the word ‘me’ and instead used the word ‘we’. Rather often. This was presumably done to emphasize that all the freedoms and liberty we enjoy in these United States of America depend on us respecting everyone else’s.
