God: Now where were we, young man?
DB: We were talking about a benevolent king. If that doesn’t work, and you won’t do it, what better system is there? We still have a handful of not-so-benevolent kings around and a bunch of tyrants and despots. And quite a few countries that govern themselves as a democracy with varying degrees of success.
God: Democracy? Ah, yes. A government of the people, by the people, and for the people? That’s cute. Is that what you think you’ve got here?
