Can I tell you something?
When I was in high school a few years back, we had to take a driver education class before we could even apply for a permit, but only after completing the much more rigorous course taught by our fathers. All of which preceded the written exam and a behind-the-wheel test conducted by some humorless DMV employee who acted like Yoda but was far less attractive. This arduous rite of passage was founded on the presumption that before joining millions of other motorists on crowded streets and highways a person should know how to operate a motor vehicle and be able to demonstrate that skill.
