Can I tell you something?
This may be impossible for younger readers to comprehend but in days of yore when people wanted visual documentation of something or someone they did not reach in their pocket or purse for a phone. Back then, we used our phones to make phone calls and we used cameras to take pictures. And imagine the inconvenience, they were two different devices.
So any time we thought a photo opportunity might present itself we were obliged to carry cameras strapped around our necks – occasionally I see people still doing this and realize how stupid we must have looked – or in our hands. But this was okay because our phones were back at the house wired to the wall, so we had free hands.
